Basilippo Gourmet: Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the First Days of harvest in our estate “Hacienda Merrha”, only from Arbequina olives. The olives are milled within 2 hours of picking and the fruit is hand selected before crushing. It takes 12-13 kg (almost 29 pounds) of green Arbequina olives to obtain 1 litre of Basilippo Gourmet. This is in comparison to 5 kg of olives for every liter of oil for common producers. The aroma is that of Green Apple, Herbs, Green Tomato, Almond y Green Banana, recalls to Olive Leaf. The flavor is complex and elegant with very light bitterness and a pungent finish with the slight flavor of cayenne and green almond. Aromas of green tomato, fresh olives, banana peel, green grapes and apple. Sweet flavor, complex and elegant. Very light bitterness and slightly spicy ending.
